Mugo Pines are great bonsai trees for a beginner who is interested in a pine bonsai tree but does not want to take on the regular maintenance and care of a Japanese Black Pine Bonsai. Mugo Pine's feature tight needle growth which makes them great for a full look without a lengthy ramification process. Mugo Pine bonsai trees are evergreen and are hardy to a very cold temperatures making them ideal for most environments.

Shohin bonsai is a style of bonsai that focuses on maintaining movement and structure in a small form, typically no larger than 10" in height. Mugo Pine arrives in a 4-5" pot and measures 6-8" in height potted.

Care Information

Pines tolerate dryer soil much better than over-watering. It is recommended to water the tree daily and monitor the wetness of the soil. One of the most important things to remember about the Mugo Pines is that it must have good drainage. The Mugo Pine Bonsai Trees need partial to full sun. Pines are resilient to varying degrees of temperature from warm and dry to the cold and snow. Mugo Pines can be easily pruned back. Their dense needle growth can be thinned to desired shape.Repotting the bonsai prior to springtime prior to the needles opening will ensure best results.
