Zhao Sheng Che has been practicing the art of penjing/bonsai for over 40 years. He is currently Penjing Specialist at The Huntington Library and Botanical Gardens in San Marino, CA. Mr. Che first studied and practiced the art of bonsai with Zhi Quan Lu, the son of Master Xue Ming Lu, the well-known master of the Lingnan style of penjing in Guangzhou, China, and later became a student of Master Lu. Today, he continues to practice and hone his craft at his home garden in Los Angeles, CA, specializing in styling Chinese Elm trees. Mr. Che has been involved with many bonsai clubs. Currently, he is a member of the Southern Breeze Tree and Stone Society. He is also the Honorary President of the Guangzhou Penjing Association, which is headed by his good friend, Zhi Quan Lu, his very first teacher.
