Tillandsia Funckiana 'Jolly Green Giant'

Tillandsias, or commonly referred to as air plants, are extremely easy to care for. Their most outstanding feature is that they do not require roots to grow. All the nutrients and moisture are absorbed through the foliage. This characteristic is the reason why they are able to handle very dry and hot conditions. Perfect for both indoor and outdoor settings. Tillandsias are often used in terrariums or rock and branch plantings. Watering can be done on a daily basis with misting and showering or they can be submerged in filtered or bottled water on a weekly basis.

One of the more unique varieties of Tillandsia, the Tillandsia funckiana grows upward in a twisting stalk, and can form several "heads", giving it a hydra-like appearance. Can produce a bright coral-red bloom. The 'Jolly Green Giant' variety has longer, darker green leaves that can also have a slight slivery appearance. Air plant measures approximately 3" - 4" in length.

Tillandsias are extremely tolerant of dry and hot conditions. They do not require a root system.
We recommend watering your Tillandsias with bottled or filtered water on a daily basis simply by showering it briefly.
The leaves of the Tillandsia plant will change to a green color to indicate proper hydration. If watering on a weekly basis, submerge the Tillandsia in water for up to an hour, then remove.
